Jean Bernadette Estabaya
I am Jean Bernadette Estabaya, graduated Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management from Adamson University with the help of Kapatidkita Mahalkita Foundation from 2007 to 2014.
Born to a poor family of eight, my parents – my father, who works as a construction worker, and my mother as a housewife, hardly earn enough to provide the food we eat everyday. This made school expenses always being compromised. We have experienced going to school with our pockets empty. Our school stuff had always been hand downs and are rarely completed. But this never became a hindrance for me to do good in my studies. I always made sure to get high scores in every subject and to never miss my classes. This was when the opportunity from Kapatid Kita Mahal Kita Foundation came in. Year 2007, Ms. Caren Arnstein together with the KM foundation, worked together to support my studies. They have provided everything we needed in school. From uniforms, shoes, complete school supplies, books, and even weekly allowance, and groceries. They also organized kids parties during Christmas. All these things I will not be able to experience without them. They stayed with me until I graduated in 2014, from one of the prominent schools in the country. I am now working as a Process Manager in an International Bank. I was able to help my younger brothers finished their studies. I was able to provide a decent home and a much better, comfortable living for my family. These things aren’t possible if not for their help.
KM Foundation and all its people play a huge part of where I am now and in the future. I am forever grateful for the support they have given me and all the kids who also hoped for a brighter future. I always pray to God to shower the KM foundation and its people more blessings and all the good things they deserve, for changing lives and for making this world a better place to live in.
