Alexander C.

May the Lord be with you as you read my journey, after KM foundation has helped me to have the key to a brighter future. I am Alexander John Cabudbud, a former scholar of KM foundation. Graduated Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering in 2017 at Asian Institute of Computer Studies.

As an unfortunate first-time job seeker, I have faced all the hardships and shortcomings that a fresh graduate could have. From sending my CVs to lots of companies online, even the traditional way of printing those and walking in to companies located in major business centers of Metro Manila. Months passed by and I am still unemployed. Pressure from family and society is becoming real that pushed me to even apply for the jobs that I don’t really want and settle for less.
After months of desperation, I finally got my first job as a Project Engineer in a small local engineering company in my hometown where I have been trained for Auxiliary Electronic Systems primarily, Parking Management Systems. I also have repaired lots of our installed equipment around Metro Manila and have participated in project biddings. I really enjoyed my job for its challenges but I can not deny the fact that I am gaining only bare minimum wage and obviously, less than what I deserved. I left the company after 9 months and decided to move to another one in Makati City.

In 2018, I got my second job as a Commissioning Engineer for Security Systems at Calvelo Engineered Systems. A bit better salary but a huge turning point for I also have moved away from our home. Living independently was my first step to finding my own purpose in life while handling lots of projects involving CCTVs, Access Control Systems, etc. Cables and hand tools have been my friends, alongside my supervised teams, moving from projects to projects, buildings to buildings, cities to cities. I even had the opportunity to have a flight for a 3-star Hotel in Cebu City. Four years and 2 months have passed and after I have finished the last huge project for an International School in Taguig City that was assigned to me, I decided to move to another chapter of my career as I turned the page and a new opportunity has come.

Last July 4 of 2022, I started my new career as an End User Support Engineer in a UK based international company, ensuring that all IT equipment is in good running condition and employees having a full time IT technical support on site. I am now able to get benefits that I did not have before, except from well paid salary, the company is ensuring that we can have the necessary IT trainings for our career growth. I can not say by now if this would be my last job but I all I can say is that I am now in the right place.

With all my heart, I will always thank KM Foundation/Phil Humanitarian. Not only for the educational support, but also for allowing me to meet my sponsor who has been in contact with me up to this very moment, Tita Paulina Michaud. The foundation also has helped my brother in his education and is now a Software Engineer in Accenture. Hand in hand, we are able to have our house renovated and especially, able to help our family. Lastly, KM Foundation/Phil Humanitarian is the has been the foundation of my soul.

Seek for God in each suffering, be patient and kind and someday, you’ll know why. See the beauty in value, not the value in beauty.
